There is no better time to take the plunge and plan your travel adventure. We hope to inspire you with our exciting new volunteer programmes, special offers and travel stories.

New Project Brand new programme!

Peru Dolphin Research Volunteer

Dolphin conservation in Peru More than 3000 dolphins are killed illegally every year along the Peruvian coastline for human consumption. Volunteer help is urgently required on this pioneering programme to protect these enchanting creatures.

As a volunteer you will form an integral part of the research team, collecting important information on the distribution areas of the Bottlenose dolphin, their behaviour and interactions.

The turtle breeding season is now in full flow

Turtle Conservation in South America Volunteers are urgently needed to help ensure the survival of endangered turtle species in both Costa Rica and Guatemala. In Central America turtle eggs are considered to be a delicacy and local collectors harvest nearly all of the turtle nests to then sell on the eggs at local markets.

Astonishingly, only 1 in every 5000 eggs laid ever grow into an adult turtle. You can help now, the turtle nesting season is in full flow and you can really make a difference to the threatened survival of these creatures.

Turtle Conservation in South America Volunteers form a patrol by walking the beaches and landing sites in search of nesting turtles. Once spotted, the volunteers collect the eggs and transfer them to the hatchery. When the eggs are hatched safely the volunteers assist in releasing the baby turtles back into the waters.

You can take part this year up until December 2006 for a duration of 2 weeks or more, or book your place for 2007.

Tailor made round the world itinerary

Howard and Fiona are making the most of their time away and are spending a whole year volunteering their way around the world from Africa, through Asia and over to Latin America via Australia and New Zealand.

Tailor made trip round the world "My wife and I had discussed over the years that as soon as I retired we would go off and travel the world. However, this year an opportunity arose to sell my business and I opted to take early retirement. Our children, all 7 of them have all left home or are at university, we are both fit and healthy and so we are free!

Everyone is all very supportive of what we are doing, even if a little crazy! We are renting out our house, putting our possessions in storage and getting ready for our trip of lifetime in December this year.

Tailor made trip round the world We are very excited about our gap year and a little apprehensive too as we have never done anything like this before but we are really looking forward to the adventure."

Howard and Fiona have dreamed of this trip for many years. Their advice for others also thinking about it:

"You could do this too if you just put your mind to it!"
